Scope

Design and install a new, fully addressable fire alarm system in all 14 outbuildings on campus that ties into the existing fire alarm system in the main building.

Installed new fiber network to interconnect all outlying buildings to the main fire alarm control panel.

Installed new fire alarm panels and power supplies to provide stand-alone system capabilities for each building along with new code compliant devices and infrastructure as necessary to retrofit all buildings with this new technology.

Challenges

Our contract was the 2nd Phase of the campus wide fire alarm system replacement in which Phase 1 was being performed under a separate contract by another Prime contractor. The Phase 1 scope of work included replacement of the main fire alarm control panels in the main building which also supported the fire alarm systems in the outbuildings included in the scope of our project. The delayed completion of the Phase 1 project ultimately impacted our planned approach for the replacement and tie-in of the campus outbuildings.
